The role

Broadly, the role of a Recruit Legal Consultant is to manage and serve our clients (companies who wish to recruit personnel) and our candidates (individuals who seek a job).

This will involve:

  • identifying and developing client business relationships; promoting Recruit Legal's services through warm- and cold- calls and client meetings; forging long term client relationships;
  • assessing the needs of each particular assignment or client;
  • searching methodically and aggressively for suitable candidates within our database and in the market and respond within three days to a client; interviewing and assessing candidates; forging long term relationships resulting in candidate loyalty
  • managing the client-candidate meeting process through interview to offer stage and beyond;

Contrary to popular perception, a consultant at Recruit Legal is not simply the "middle-person" or "go-between" between our clients and candidates.

It is of critical importance that each Recruit Legal Consultant assess professionally and stringently the suitability of each candidate presented to each client, and provide a consultative service to both clients and candidates based on his or her market and commercial knowledge.

Is this job in any way like a 'sales' job?

Yes - but only in a limited sense. Firstly, only to the extent that you are 'selling' yourself and Recruit Legal's services to clients and candidates. Secondly, only to the extent that there are targets to meet - targets in terms of the number of placements you must make every month. Why this is necessary is simple: it is our way of ensuring consistently accurate, precise and fast delivery for our clients.
